Our Vision
We want Swansea to be recognised as a place where creative work doesn’t just start – it thrives. That means:
- Creating clearer pathways from early career to sustainable practice
- Helping micro businesses scale up
- Making access and equity central to everything we do
- Strengthening Swansea’s reputation as a creative connector
Why Swansea?
Swansea’s creative edge comes from its unique mix of people, places, and practice.
Institutions like Glynn Vivian Gallery and the Dylan Thomas Centre; two universities producing creative graduates; a vibrant freelance scene which represents over 40% of the creative workforce – with some sectors reaching 88%; and a bottom-up culture from grassroots venues to pop-up events.
We’re increasingly recognised as a ‘micro cluster’ in the Music, Performing, and Visual Arts – now it’s time to grow that reputation and back it with action.
Together, we can unlock the city’s creative potential and shape a future where Swansea’s culture and creativity lead the way.
